CORDELIA ALEGRE

Director and scriptwriter

Cordelia Alegre, director and scriptwriter born in Barcelona. She graduated in Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, with a course at the Université Paris VII thanks to an Erasmus grant.

As a final degree project, she co-directed the documentary “La distancia de los nombres”, supervised by Jordi Balló and Isaki Lacuesta and premiered at the Seminci in Valladolid in 2016. She studied the Master’s Degree in Documentary at the UPF and became assistant director to the director Neus Ballús in the film “Seis días corrientes”, produced by Distinto Films.

She currently works as a filmmaker specialising in audiovisual documentation of cultural and artistic projects. Since 2017 she has been collaborating with the company PI(È)CE, led by Constanza Brncic and Albert Tola. Her artistic training in cello also brings her into contact with the world of classical music and she becomes the director of all the concerts of the platform El Auditorio Digital, created by the Auditorio de Barcelona.

She is also co-founder of the Nadir Association – Audiovisual and Education, where she coordinates several community audiovisual projects.

In the field of fiction film, her short film project “Mistral” was selected in the “Acción Cortos” programme of Mujeres Visuales and will be shot this coming 2021. At the same time, she is developing the script for the fiction feature film “La Unión”, which was part of the Ibero-American Script Residency in Cali, the LAB of the Novos Cinemas Festival and the Incubator of the ECAM, produced by Àngels Masclans and Jaime Guerrero.
